After a smooth journey, the Smith family arrives at their chalet. "This is the dream location we’ve always dreamed of!" exclaims Chantal enthusiastically as she steps into the chalet. Her husband Peter enjoys the warm scent of wood and the first impression of the tastefully furnished living room with the large open fireplace. The young ladies are particularly impressed by the spacious open kitchen, where they imagine preparing the most delicious meals, while the gentlemen quickly ensure they have a lovely bedroom.
On the Slopes in No Time
The next morning, the group wakes up in peace and enjoys the stunning view of the snow-capped mountains from the living room. After a hearty breakfast, the family puts on their ski gear and prepares to tackle the slopes. Within five minutes, all seven holidaymakers are gliding down the piste, making the most of the fresh mountain air, freshly groomed snow, and the morning sunshine.
Skiing as a Group
James, the best skier in the group, knows the area like the back of his hand. He was a ski instructor in the same area a few years ago, so he knows all the best runs nearby. He takes the lead and brings his brother, sister, and sisters-in-law to the black run. His parents prefer to take it a bit easier and choose a different route.
Enjoying the Sun on the Terrace
After a few hours on the slopes, the youngsters feel tired but satisfied, so they decide to join Charlotte and Peter on the sunny terrace of their chalet, overlooking the beautiful mountains. The family enjoys an Austrian beer, glühwein, and some snacks together. Sophie, who is on holiday with her in-laws for the first time, says with a smile on her face, "This is truly the ultimate skiing experience. I can’t believe how beautiful it is here. Thank you so much for having me!"
A Relaxing Evening
Sophie’s words warm Charlotte’s heart. Initially, she was a bit worried about whether Sophie would enjoy herself, as she doesn’t know the family very well yet. After Sophie’s remark, a weight is lifted from Charlotte’s shoulders, and the rest of the evenings are filled with cheerfulness. After dinner, the family plays games by the fireplace and shares stories. Peter, who is always the joker, brings lots of laughter with his anecdotes about their previous ski holidays.
Mia, James’s girlfriend, was also a bit worried beforehand. She feared she would be on top of her in-laws all week. However, nothing could be further from the truth, as the chalet by the slopes turns out to be incredibly spacious. One evening, James and she decide they aren’t in the mood to play a game, so they opt to relax in the chalet's private sauna. "What luxury! This is the perfect way to unwind. It’s fantastic that this is possible," concludes Mia.
An Unforgettable Last Evening
On the final evening in Austria, the (step)children organise a special festive meal. With everyone’s help, the table is beautifully set, and delicious dishes are on the menu. The exquisitely laid table, the wonderful holiday, and the beautiful location of the chalet move Charlotte to tears. "Let’s raise a toast to the beautiful memories we’ve made in this fantastic place with these wonderful people!"
Dream Holiday
And so the celebration for the Smith family continued into the small hours, filled with joy and the promise to go on holiday together again next year. The memories of this week in the chalet by the slopes would stay with them for a long time; it meant a dream holiday with the family!
