A summer holiday in Austria can become an expensive affair unless you book your holiday accommodation with ChaletsPlus! Many holiday homes include a summer card, allowing you to save hundreds of euros. With this card, you have access to various free activities and benefit from numerous discounts. How much you truly get out of your summer vacation, for example with the National Sommercard, you can read about in this blog.

Operation

With the card, you can visit one attraction for free each day and use public transportation and/or participating hiking taxis during your vacation. The summer card is personalized, meaning that each individual in the travel group receives their own personal card. It is crucial to keep it safe. The summer card cannot be purchased separately and is valid from May 1st to October 31st.

Attractions

The card provides access to various attractions and modes of transportation, such as mountain and valley rides with different cable cars, free entry to up to thirteen different swimming pools, the opportunity to engage in sports like (mini) golf, archery, and squash, as well as visits to museums and educational outings for the whole family. The mentioned options are only indicative. For exact and current conditions, please consult the website of the National Sommercard, for example.

Different Sommercards

In addition to the National Sommercard, available in Neukirchen am Großvenediger, Bramberg am Wildkogel, and Mittersill, there are also other summer cards available, depending on the village where your holiday accommodation is located. Examples of such cards include the Hochkönig Card, available at most accommodations in Hinterthal, Dienten, and Maria Alm; the Lungau Card, available at accommodations in Mauterndorf, Sankt Margarethen, and Mariapfarr; the Gästekarte, at most homes in Wald Im Pinzgau and Königsleiten; and the Joker Card, available at most accommodations in Viehhofen and AlpenResort Saalbach-Hinterglemm.

How much do you save?

To provide a general impression of what a 10-day vacation with ChaletsPlus looks like, we have taken the average travel group for a summer vacation in Austria as a reference: two adults and two children aged 6-14 staying in Neukirchen am Großvenediger. This group forms the basis for our 10-day holiday program and has received a National Sommercard when booking accommodation!
