In the winter, the well-known mountain village of Königsleiten is bursting with winter sports fun! Positioned in the middle of the vast ski area of the Zillertal Arena, it is the starting point for long day trips. As an experienced winter sports enthusiast and as a beginner, you can learn the techniques on the practice slope in the village centre. After all this sportiness, it is time for a nightcap in the après-ski or a well-deserved meal in one of the mountain huts - there are plenty of options. Because of its location on the southern slope, you are always guaranteed plenty of sunshine during your winter sports, so don't forget the sunscreen!

In the summer, you can explore the beautiful surroundings on foot or by bike/mountain bike. You are already at a high altitude in Königsleiten, but you can go even higher up! The Dorfbahn gondola also takes you up in the summer where you can continue your journey over the high Alpine meadows. On warm days, you can cool off at the Durlaßboden reservoir where you can take part in various water sports or, of course, relax on the grassy banks with a book while the children play on the playground equipment. You can also admire Europe's highest tiered waterfall from a distance by spending time on the Gerlospas and then spend the day there.

Look forward to a spectacular summer holiday in Königsleiten

The Austrian town of Königsleiten is one of the most central municipalities in the Zillertal Arena. This charming village sits at an altitude of approximately 1,600 metres, making it an incredibly popular destination for ski lovers and snowboarders. However, outside of the winter months, there’s plenty to love about Königsleiten. It’s an ideal summer holiday destination, with all you need to kick back, relax and unwind. Alternatively, adventure is never far away when you enjoy a summertime break here. Lying on the border between Tyrol and Salzburgerland, the views are really something here. The snow-capped peaks slowly turn green as the summer temperatures settle in, while the Hohe Tauern National Park (one of the largest in Europe) provides you with plenty of ground to cover when you’re out exploring. Young and old can look forward to all manner of exciting activities and excursions when visiting Königsleiten, with no moment having to go to waste.
