The beautifully furnished Chalet Mooshütte is situated on the southern slope of the mountain village of Königsleiten. This attractive holiday home offers ample room for groups of up to 12 people, with plenty of space inside to accommodate everyone comfortably. In the homely sitting area you can relax by the fireplace as you recharge after a busy day, while the traditional Austrian dining nook provides an ideal spot to gather at mealtimes. The kitchen includes everything you’d ever need to prepare delicious dishes, while the living and dining rooms provide you with breathtaking views of the forested surroundings and magnificent mountain scenery. Sleeping accommodation is divided across five bedrooms, with four bedrooms boasting a double bed and a fifth bedroom having two single beds and an additional sliding bed. This is a premier choice of chalet for larger groups looking for plenty of space to call their own when they visit this part of Austria, with close proximity to the Königsleiten village centre ensuring you’re only a short stroll away from a pick of restaurants and bars.

In winter, the snow-sure ski area the Zillertal Arena offers something for everyone. Both beginners and experienced skiers alike will find a variety of slopes to tackle, while younger skiers will find plenty of time to hone their abilities on the practice meadow in the middle of the village. Here, first-timers can also arrange for their foundation ski lessons from trainers serving one of several ski schools in the area. Sled rides are also on offer if you’re after an enchanting way to spend an afternoon. The ski lift and après-ski bars are all within walking distance of the chalet, making life incredibly convenient when you visit. After a long day on the slopes, you can store your winter sports gear in the ski storage facilities provided, before retreating to the comfort the chalet living quarters for a cosy evening gathered around the fireplace.

In summer, Königsleiten is an ideal choice of getaway destination for those after genuine peace and tranquillity. However, those after a more high-octane set of outdoor adventures will find plenty to enjoy here too, with heaps of mountain hike trails and bike tours on offer. At the nearby Durlaßboden reservoir near Gerlos, you can get to grips with a host of water sporting activities all day long, before firing up a barbecue at the edge of the lake come the evening for an awesome al fresco supper. Looking for more first-rate ideas on how to have fun in this part of Austria? On clear days, Königsleiten’s planetarium is an absolute must-visit attraction. Here, you can see the starts up close at Europe’s highest observatory. For more action-packed adventure, the Actionberg Penken in Mayrhofen is worth a visit. In Königsleiten you’re right in the middle of the action: During the day, sunny, snow-sure ski areas begin right on your doorstep. From late afternoon onwards, you’ve plenty to keep you occupied and entertained in the vicinity. On the slopes and in the village, a hearty après-ski begins early, with no excuses for not joining in with the party atmosphere. At an altitude of 1600 metres, the village is even higher than the Gerlos Pass! Ideal for slope fanatics and lovers of romantic mountain panoramas. Alternatively, adventure is never far away when you enjoy a summertime break here. Lying on the border between Tyrol and Salzburgerland, the views are really something here. The snow-capped peaks slowly turn green as the summer temperatures settle in, while the Hohe Tauern National Park (one of the largest in Europe) provides you with plenty of ground to cover when you’re out exploring.
