Hiking in the Saalbach Hinterglemm region

The Saalbach Hinterglemm region situated in Salzburg is mainly known due to the Ski-Circus in the winter. However, what many people do not know is that this region also has much to offer in the summer. This region offers something for everyone especially in the summer. Saalbach Hinterglemm is par excellence the region for those who love nature and the mountain world and who are keen hikers in part due to the no fewer than 400 well-signposted hiking trails. These trails offer the option of taking fantastic walks with panoramic views of the Leoganger Steinbergen and the Hohe Tauern mountains. If you prefer not to hike on your own, the Tourist Information Office organises hikes with a guide in accordance with a fixed weekly programme. In addition, you can also take different panoramic hikes by using the four cable cars that will take you to the higher situated areas. There are different starting points for enjoyable family hikes but also for keen mountain top climbers at the lift drop-off points. In total, twelve trails have been set out with a length of no less than 71.4 km. In addition, these hiking trails also, of course, offer excellent opportunities for Nordic Walking fans. After a few hours of intensive effort, you can relax in one of the 30 Alm huts, rustic mountain huts, before continuing with your day programme.
