When it has snowed, be the first on the slopes and enjoy making the first tracks!
In summer, I enjoy the peace, the views, and the sun in Austria. Beautiful hikes and bike rides that make you feel like you’re truly away from it all.
Skiing in the deep snow and enjoying the Austrian Gemütlichkeit.
When I stand at the top of the mountain and enjoy the view of the snow-covered peaks, I breathe in the fresh mountain air and feel happy! Spending the whole day being active and then winding down with a drink in the après-ski bar or on a sunny terrace. Add a bit of tobogganing and a plate of Kaiserschmarrn, and a week of winter sports in Austria is perfect for me!
But even in the summer, I’m always surprised by the variety of activities and how beautiful the view is when you take a lovely hike or mountain bike trip in the valley or right on top of the mountain. In between, a swim in a mountain lake at 2000 meters. Yes, I’m definitely an Austria fan!
As a little girl, snow already had a magical pull on me. I often found myself standing early in the morning, peeking out from behind the curtains in my room, watching the snowflakes gently fall. Slowly, I saw the world change, covered by a white, cotton-like blanket. I couldn’t wait for the morning to come so I could go outside and play in the snow.
At the age of 20, I was introduced to winter sports in the Austrian mountains. For the first time, I slid down the slope on skis. I was hooked immediately. I felt like that little girl again. Being outside in nature, surrounded by those impressive mountain peaks. And when you hear the birds chirping and the sun shining on the snow cover, with millions of silver sparkles—truly magical!
Enjoying the snowy mountains with breathtaking views all day long. Lovely walks, skiing with the children, breathing in the fresh mountain air, and so much more...
The peace, space, and the beautiful nature, the sound of the cowbells, and being enchanted when you reach the mountain top, before settling down at an alpine hut and enjoying the delicious traditional cuisine.
Winter sports in Austria are simply enchanting; the snow-covered mountains always seem to invite me to adventure. It’s not just the adrenaline of skiing, but also the mountain huts, with Austrian hospitality, where I settle down with a hot chocolate and an Apfelstrudel, enjoying the view that looks like a painting— in short, the feeling of relaxation and freedom.
But even in the summer, Austria has won my heart, the feeling of freedom in nature, the many activities on the mountain for children, and the cozy terraces make summer in Austria an unforgettable experience. A holiday in Austria is the perfect combination for me of adventure and relaxation, and the endless possibilities create beautiful holiday memories of Austria!
Unwinding and relaxing in the stunning nature of Salzburgerland. Hiking and photographing, and in the evening enjoying a Käsespätzle or a Kaiserschmarrn. That gives me “a wonderful feeling!”
Too much to name, but my favourite has to be skiing down a freshly groomed slope as the first one. Then finding a cosy mountain hut and enjoying a (warm) drink on a sunny terrace.
For me, it’s definitely the fresh mountain air in the morning. I love taking the first lift up to make the first tracks with my snowboard in the fresh snow or on the groomed slopes. I’d happily spend the whole day on the slopes, but I’m always willing to take a short break for a Wiener Schnitzel or a hot chocolate with whipped cream.
After a night of heavy snowfall, take the very first lift up to leave tracks in the fresh powder snow. At the end of the day, enjoy a Weizen beer and the gezelligheid with family or friends.
My ultimate Austria feeling comes when I reach the top of the mountain after a tough hike, with blood, sweat, and tears. From that moment, I can relax and enjoy the fresh mountain air and the breathtaking view! Once I'm back down, I cool off with a refreshing dip and a nice cold drink.
After an exhausting mountain hike, enjoy a delicious plate of Kaiserschmarrn on a sunny terrace with a stunning view of the Austrian mountains. Pure bliss!
In the summer, enjoy a lovely hike in a beautiful setting, have a good "Jause," then cool off in a natural pond. In winter, after a day on the slopes, it's best to warm up in the sauna, and then enjoy a Hefeweizen!
