Destination summary
Bramberg am Wildkogel is an established village with plenty of character. Situated at an altitude of approximately 820 metres on the Wildkogel, it’s also very well connected to the surrounding ski area. The Emerald Railway takes you to the Wildkogel Arena in a few minutes. Bramberg is a perfect holiday destination for families, having made a name for itself with many leisure activities for children, both on the slopes and in the village itself. In addition to the longest illuminated toboggan run in Europe, winter riding is also offered. Snow walks and ice skating are also very popular.
Those who like it quiet and quaint will love Bramberg. Here you can appreciate typical Pinzgau hospitality and proud regional cuisine. The après-ski facilities have been extended in recent years to include a number of cosy bars and restaurants. The nearby Kristallbad Wald offers wellness facilities and swimming. Other baths are located in Zell am See, Kitzbühel and Mittersill.
There is also plenty to do in terms of culture. A show mine and museum explore the mining tradition of the town, with crystals and minerals still a key part of the town today. You’ll find plenty to admire, with many majestic pieces available to buy if you’re after a spectacular souvenir of your travels. Visiting in winter? If the cold is getting too much, there’s always the Salzburger Wollstadel, a traditional alpine sheep breeder, to consider. Stock up on handmade clothing and accessories made from genuine sheep wool, or stock up on gifts for friend and family back home. If you’re keen to indulge with some real culture in a more bustling centre, then you’ll definitely want to schedule in some time for a trip to Neukirchen am Großvenediger!
The Wildkogel is part of the Kitzbüheler Alps, a very unspoilt mountain range that has been designated a nature reserve. The visitor centre is nearby, providing you with all the pointers you need to get started. You’re free to see what’s in store with many hiking trails already marked out, ensuring you can get up close and personal with the local wildlife. Opposite the Salzach, you’ll see the impressive peaks of the Hohe Tauern rise. Here, at the Tauern Window, the diversity of rocks is particularly pronounced.

About the ski resorts

The Wildkogel Arena
The Wildkogel Arena is a varied family ski area with 16 modern ski lifts and a total of 75km of slopes. The slopes are divided into 46% blue slopes, 41% red slopes and 13% black slopes. Because the slopes are wide, children and beginners can also have a lot of fun. The Wildkogel Arena has great children's areas and many care facilities. Snowboarders can let off steam in a fun park with a halfpipe. Due to its special location in an area with mostly northern slopes, the Wildkogel Arena's snow reliability and snow quality are remarkably good.
The Kitzbüheler Alps Ski Resort
The ski area Kitzbüheler Alpen is a very modern ski area with more than 100km of slopes. One of the most famous slopes in this area is the 'Hahnenkamm', a very steep slope for advanced skiers. The Panoramabahn Kitzbüheler Alpen in Mittersill/ Hollersbach can be reached from Bramberg in 5 to 10 minutes by car.
The Zillertal Arena

The area has 52 modern ski lifts and 143km long slopes, of which 8% are black, 62% red and 30% blue. The 320 hectares of snow-covered slopes are guaranteed to snow throughout the entire season. In addition to skiing, the 200km long network of cross-country trails offers excellent cross-country skiing opportunities. The Zillertal Arena (1470 - 2302m) can be reached via the Gerlos Pass in the direction of Krimml/Hochkrimml in about 20 - 25 minutes by car.
Ski pass
The Wildkogel Arena ski pass is used in the Wildkogel Arena. With this ski pass, you have access to all lifts in the Wildkogel Arena. With this pass, you can also use the free ski bus from various stops in Neukirchen and Bramberg to the valley station of the Wildkogel Arena. There is also a free bus connection to Königsleiten. If you want more: With the Zillertal Arena pass, you can access two ski areas at the same time - because the Wildkogel is included.
